Description

Cow Dung and Paper Mache masks from Odisha.

The base of a paper mache mask can be molded from a mixture of paper pulp, cloth and cow dung. Cow dung is added to the mask’s body and reinforcement, layered on top of paper pulp. A tamarind seed powder slurry is mixed with water to form an adhesive component, which is then cast into the desired shape.
